group B world cupIn the coming weeks, we shall be looking into the current odds set on various situations regarding the group stages. This week we shall be looking into Group B which includes 2010 winners and runners up Spain and the Netherlands.

As per our sportsbook page, the current odds show that the favourites for Group winners are current World Cup holders Spain with odds set at 1.75, followed by the Netherlands with odds set at 3.40. This shows that although the Spanish are clear favourites, the Dutch still contain the type of squad which could indeed upset such odds.

Chile are predicted to come in third place with odds of winning the group set at 5.00, whilst group minnows Australia are clearly not expected to impress much during the tournament with odds of winning the group set at 21.00. The Socceroos are also heavily predicted to end up last in the group with odds set at 1.18.

The Top 2 finish odds show clearly that both La Furia Roja and the Oranje are favourites to emerge from this group successfully, with odds set at 1.15 for the Spanish and 1.50 for the Dutch respectively. However, the Chileans have odds of ending up in first or second set at 1.90 which is not far away from the Dutch, meaning that the group’s fate is far from sealed.

The Straight Forecast shows that the majority of fans predict Spain to end up in first place with the Netherlands in second with odds set at 2.75, yet replacing the Dutch with Chile shows odds of 4.20, implying that the majority of people taking part are predicting a Spain and Netherlands success of going through.

In betting, numbers do paint the prediction of the majority, with a few interesting suggestions being brought up thanks to the current odds in place.
